I’m currently spending my time near Maidstone for work. But since I’m having a day off today, I thought about searching for an english geocache. And I’ve been successfull. I found one.
It started at the old Maidstone Waterworks. Since there was no sidewalk, I quickly read the desired number and walked a few meters, to get away from the street. After entering the new coordinates I noticed, that I walked the wrong direction. But by accident I found the right footpath down to the river. So it was actually the right direction.
The second hint was a bit more complicated to find, due to some litter covering it. Though I don’t think, that was planned ![]()
After sitting down, for calculating the coordinates of the final, I followed the footpath along the riverside. After walking about 500 meters, The distance to the final increased again. I was on the wrong side of the track. I went zigzag, finally aproaching the cache location after about 2,5 km instead of about 600 m (my way back). A few meters, before reaching the car, my GPS indicated “battey low” and switched of. So that’s it with geocaching for today.
For an impression of the view at the final location refer to the cache description, since I only had my mobile for taking pictures.
P.S.: Don’t worry, this blog will not switch to english, I just did this for fun.
P.P.S.: If you’re a native speaker, please forgive me
